Job title: Tutor – Hair Dressing
Summary:
We are seeking for a skilled and passionate Hairdressing Tutor with a diploma qualification in Hairdressing or a related field to join our educational institution. The ideal candidate will possess significant industry experience and expertise in various hairdressing techniques. The Hairdressing Tutor will be responsible for delivering comprehensive and practical lessons, guiding students, and creating a dynamic learning environment within the field of hairdressing.
Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, and hands-on demonstrations aligned with industry standards and trends in hairdressing.
- Instruction: Conduct theoretical lectures, practical workshops, and demonstrations covering haircutting, styling, coloring, and other hairdressing techniques.
- Practical Training: Provide hands-on training and guidance to trainees in salon settings, fostering their skills and creativity in hairstyling.
- Mentorship: Offer constructive feedback, mentorship, and support to trainees, guiding them in developing their skills and professional ethics.
- Product Knowledge: Instruct trainees on product usage, hair care treatments, and the application of various hairdressing tools and equipment.
- Safety and Hygiene: Teach and ensure adherence to safety protocols, hygiene practices, and sanitation standards in a salon environment.
- Industry Relevance: Stay updated with current trends, techniques, and innovations in the hairdressing industry, integrating relevant information into the curriculum.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Evaluate trainee performance through practical assessments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist in administrative duties such as maintaining records, tracking attendance, and participating in curriculum planning meetings.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on industry advancements.
Qualifications:
- A diploma in Hairdressing.
- Extensive experience working as a hairstylist or in the hairdressing industry, demonstrating proficiency in various cutting, styling, and colouring techniques.
- Previous teaching or training experience in hairdressing, salon management, or related subjects is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of hair care products, tools, equipment, and their applications within the industry.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey information, demonstrate techniques, and engage with trainees and other staff members.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment.
- Passion for education and a commitment to nurturing the next generation of hairstylists.
- Fluency in Local Language (Luganda) and English is A MUST
